Audio Files Added

A sample of the organ's sound in MP3 format has been added to the audio page.

A meeting and Member's Recital for the Ft. Lauderdale Chapter of the AGO was held on Tuesday, April 17th at 7:00 pm.

There was a presentation, demonstration and question/answer session about the organ, followed by a wine and cheese reception.

The Dorothy N. Bailey Memorial Organ was dedicated on Sunday, November 26, at the 10 a.m. Mass. During the service the Bishop blessed the new organ and unveiled the memorial plaque, which dedicates the instrument to the Glory of God and in remembrance of Dorothy N. Bailey, an Organist and Lay Eucharistic Visitor.

Special music included brass and tympani accompanying the choir, and a half-hour recital demonstrating the MIDI capabilities of the instrument followed the mass. The program was:

Toccata and Fugue in D Minor --- J.S. Bach
Lamento --- J. Alain
Suite Gothique --- L. Boellmann
Fugue in C Major --- D. Buxtehude
Finale, Symphony No. 2 for Organ (L. Vierne)

Following the recital a full lunch was served in the parish hall.
